Technical Assistance to the Federation of Congolese Savings and Credit Cooperatives (MUCODEC), the leading microfinance institution in the Republic of Congo, to implement a new Core Banking System (CBS).

The MUCODEC Group comprises a network of 45 local credit unions and service outlets, bringing together more than 400,000 members (as of 2024), making it the leading microfinance institution in the Republic of Congo.

The MUCODEC Group aimed to accelerate its digital transformation, and migration to a more modern and flexible Core Banking System (CBS) was identified as an essential prerequisite.
After having supported the MUCODEC in the drafting of the specifications and the selection of the CBS providers, HORUS supported the Group at every stage of its CBS implementation project, including:

  • Scoping and project launch, definition of the Project governance;
  • Project Management and Steering Commitee management;
  • Coordination of all the stakeholders involved (internal and external resources, up to 50 stakeholders);
  • Definition of the detailed functional and technical specifications;
  • Defining parameters (fields, roles, products, limits, etc.) and assisting the vendor in configuring the solution;
  • Analysis and supervision of the implementation of the new IT infrastructure;
  • Analysis and supervision of the implementation of interfaces with third-party systems;
  • Cleaning up the existing database and supervision of the data migration;
  • Management of functional and technical testing & UAT;
  • Support during "Go-Live rehearsals";
  • Assistance during and after the Go-Live phase;
  • Change management support.
