Support for the creation, launch and development of the first microfinance institution in Mauritius

In line with its commitment to promote sustainable development, Mauritius Commercial Bank Ltd. (MCB) commissioned HORUS DF to provide long-term technical assistance to help create, launch and develop a Microfinance Institution to provide loans to micro and small enterprises.

HORUS DF provided three forms of technical assistance:

• Appointment of a Chief Operations Officer for two years to manage the creation and development of operations for financing MSMEs (from support in the regulatory agreement application right through to the launch of services, including the definition of products, tools and procedures, recruitment and training of teams, and implementation of MIS)
• Appointment of experts on short-term assignments for the following: MIS and CRM, operational training, and support for the design of products, processes and procedures
• Supervision missions
